FAIR HOUSING SUMMIT

Register
On behalf of the City of Austin and University of Texas at Austin LBJ school, we cordially invite you to the 2018 Fair Housing Summit in Austin, Texas from April 2-5, 2018.  The 2018 Fair Housing Summit honors the legacy of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s signing of the Fair Housing Act on April 11, 1968. This Act extends the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 by declaring segregation and discrimination in housing opportunities and public accommodations illegal.

Austin’s vision is to be the most livable city in the country. Providing equal opportunity is a cornerstone to promoting and creating the rich, diverse culture that is Austin. I would be delighted if you could join me as we take a look at the past, present and future of fair housing right here in Austin and across the country.

The 2018 Fair Housing Summit will kick off on April 2, 2018 with a welcome reception at the Austin Convention Center and will include keynote presentations, educational engagement by some of our country’s most renowned fair housing experts and a trade show. The Summit will celebrate the impact of the Fair Housing Act over the past 50 years, take a hard look at barriers to fair housing that still remain, and share best practices to affirmatively further fair housing.

We look forward to your participation!
